Free Lunch

The Memphis Redbirds are holding their annual fan appreciation afternoon on Friday March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at Autozone Park. What does this mean for you and the kidlets? Free Lunch and plenty of entertainment, playground time, an opportunity to maybe get free stuff. The event, which is held in conjunction with FM 100 is designed to encourage folks to buy season tickets. We went last year and had a wonderful time.
If I remember correctly, the free lunch was hot dogs, nachos, soda and ice-cream. Redbirds staff walked around and gave out trinkets to a bunch of the kids, ours included, the playground was open and there were various give-aways and other fun events during the afternoon. In the photo I found, CJ is dancing around in the front entrance with a balloon sword, so it seems like the kidlets had a good time.
Parking was a bit tricky, I think I ended up walking over from someplace near Beale, but this I know the area a little bit better this year and I plan to try to snag something near Downtown Elementary. There are plenty of metered spots available (I’ll grab change this time). My husband met us at the gates and we had a lovely afternoon. Hope to see you all out there!
Don’t forget that the $5 seats on the lawn area are the perfect way to bring little ones to a baseball game. There is a playground and plenty of space for them to run themselves ragged. Plus Dad (and Mom) get to enjoy the game. I’ll be posting soon about what to expect at the games, but in the meantime, maybe I’ll see you at the park on Friday!
